The Oban RNLI Lifeboat Mora Edith MacDonald was tasked by Stornoway Coastguard to medevac an adult male who was suffering chest pains from Glensanda Quarry at 1:50am this morning.

The lifeboat left Oban with two paramedics aboard. By 2:30am she had arrived at Glensanda where the paramedics went ashore to assess the patient.

By 2.57am the man had been transferred to the lifeboat to begin the journey back to Oban where he was met by a waiting ambulance.

The lifeboat was ready for service again at 4:02am.

The Oban lifeboat is more used to heading for Craignure on Mull for her regular medevacs but this time was going in the opposite direction, over to the superquarry om Morvern.

Glensanda is accessible only by water, so the lifeboat was a life boat in every way.
